Abstract

Nanotechnology has revolutionized the healthcare sector along with other allied sciences. Nanomaterials are considered a good candidate for developing new antifungal drugs. Currently, various directions for the research and development of nanomaterials are undergoing. To improve the antimicrobial effect, the chemical modification of nanomaterials and combination with the available drugs are two strategies widely used. This review focuses on the recent developments and future prospects of innovative technologies of nanomaterials. The opportunities and challenges of nanomaterials in drug delivery from synthetic/natural sources to their clinical applications are also discussed.
